Rust - игра про выживание в открытом мире среди игроков, коих сейчас немало, но она пошла немного в другом направлении. Создателями являются люди, подарившие нам Garry`s Mod.

Мы снова оказываемся в мире, который охватил апокалипсис. Мы не одни в этом мире. Кроме нас здесь существуют люди, зомби и животные. Если с первыми двумя все понятно, то с животными все поинтересней. Разработчики в своей игре хотят больше уделить внимание природе. Здесь вы встретите и кроликов, и медведей, и волков. Если кролик нам не опасен, то с медведями и волками не все так просто. Хищники тоже пытаются выжить, поэтому не думайте, что они так просто сдадутся. Нет, при любом приближении они начнут кусаться и пытаться убить вас, чтобы вы стали обедом. Еще и радиация не дает спокойно жить.

Здесь есть и крафт, но если в 7 Days to Die найти нужные материалы несложно, то тут вам придется потрудиться. Отыскать хоть...

The Compound Update

We added a scientist protected compound, where players can gather and 'safely' do business. There's also scuba gear and underwater dive sites for you to explore, first-person clothing, and more. This patch wipes the maps, but your blueprints are retained.

Compound
We've added a new monument to the game: the Compound. This is a scientist controlled area intended to function as a safe zone, and there are rules:
  • No Weapons
  • No Looting
  • No Killing
  • No Sleeping

If you break any of the above rules you will be marked as hostile and the scientists and their turrets will use lethal force against you. The hostile status persists across death in an attempt to prevent griefing.

If you obey the rules then you're welcome to roam the compound and interact with other players in a non-hostile fashion. In addition, you can use the first set of NPC Vending Machines, which sell a variety of items:

Vehicle Update

Player-driven boats are here, a new helicopter event hits the servers, lusher forests are growing, we look at a new PvE monument, and more.

Boats
Ahoy! The first player controlled vehicle has arrived in Rust. A motorized rowboat, with seating for one driver and three passengers, can be found on the shores of the island. They require Low Grade Fuel to operate, and have a small storage box located in the bow. If left outside too long they will decay, so you should build yourself a boat house. There will be about 64 active on a 4k sized server, so get 'em while they're hot! You can utilize these boats to access the offshore junk piles added this patch.

Point is, they're really fun

We're back, and this time we're bringing chainsaws, the SPAS-12 shotgun, new foliage, the first look at the new helicopter, and lots more. This patch wipes the maps, but your blueprints will carry over.

MAURINO BERRY
The Chainsaw by Tom Butters has had its art finished and I've implemented it in the game. It requires Low Grade Fuel to run, and when equipped must be started via right mouse (which only has a 40% success rate, so multiple tries can be required). It will absolutely destroy trees and people, but that's about it. It's also a little loud, so please understand it will draw attention during use. I've decided not to allow this to be a raiding tool as of yet, but we'll see what we can do for the next patch. We really didn't want to add an item whose only purpose is to screw over new players who can't afford a metal door yet (ahem, Flamethrower).

Leaving Early Access
Rust is leaving Early Access today. If you're wondering what this means for you, check out this blog post with all the info. This also means all existing customer reviews on Steam will show Early Access on them, so now is a good time to update yours.

Procedural Generation
I've spent essentially the entire week merging the work Vince and Damian have been doing into a complete and stable package that can be shipped in time for the big update today.

This included fixes to the procedural world generation, so harbors are now spawning correctly again, and the new hilltop rocks and cliffs don't interfere with monuments and blend nicer with the terrain. Next I optimized and improved our procedural foliage placement and batching system so...

Lots of world changes: Water Wells monuments are in, Military Tunnels get a refresh, the terrain gets rockier. This patch wipes the maps. Next week when we leave Early Access blueprints + maps will be wiped.

Tutorial Task List
I added about 60 achievements, and I've fleshed out the tutorial task list. It's now only missing one or two more slightly difficult achievements before I can polish it off. When it's done there will be about 15 tutorial steps to go through which provides new players with a reasonable sense of how to play the game. The tutorial list we will have looks like this:
