This update brings a whole revamp to the farming system along with new items to help you keep your crops in perfect condition as well as other improvements and fixes.

Farming 2.0 Basics
There's been a major overhaul of how farming and plants work. All the various conditions of a plant are now important, and the better the conditions, the better the rewards.

To achieve the full yield potential, you'll need to make sure the following conditions are as ideal as possible:
  • Light
  • Water saturation
  • Ground condition
  • Temperature
To make it clearer what's happening with your plants, there is a new info panel that appears when aiming at a plant entity:

This updates in real time as you make any changes that might affect the conditions of a plant, such as turning on lights, adding fertilizer, etc.

Keep an eye on the "Overall" value - it's the most...

This update brings CCTV Cameras and Computer Stations for all your surveillance needs as well as various optimizations and improvements.

CCTV Cameras

CCTV Cameras are no longer just a crafting ingredient for turrets. They are now functional surveillance devices you can deploy in and around your base and view them from a Computer Station.

After you place a CCTV Camera, you must have a hammer equipped to configure it. First you must give it an identifier - This is a unique name for the camera allowing anyone who has it to access the camera, from anywhere. You can use up to 32 characters so be creative and don't use 'lootroom'.

You can also hold E and select 'Set Direction' which will manually rotate the camera to face you.

The computer station is available at the compound and is researchable. Once you have obtained one, have a seat and begin adding identifiers. Simply clicking on the name will display that camera's...

Place any gun in your turret to defend your base, A new ring road around the island to lead you to your favourite monument, Steam Rich Presence on your friends list and life stats added to the death screen as well as various other optimizations and improvements.

Modular Turrets
Auto Turrets have been modified to accept almost any projectile weapon the player wishes it to use, Be it an Eoka or an M249, simply open up the Turret's loot panel and add the weapon and the associated ammo and it's good to go.

This means a few things. Firstly, autoturrets are now cheaper as they don't require the HQM for the inbuilt assault rifle. They'll need to reload when the weapon's magazine is empty, This means the M249 will last 100 bullets and a Thompson only 20. You can also use any kind of ammunition the weapon can accept ( Incendiary, Explosive, HV) and the turret will utilize any attachments on the weapon. I'm excited to see which...

To celebrate the start of the Lunar New Year (not that we like moonlight in Rust), we made some stuff!

Lunar New Year Items
Happy Lunar new year to everyone! To help everyone celebrate we have added some new items to the Steam item store.

First off, throughout the Lunar New Year celebration everyone will be able to craft a set of throw-able firecrackers to make a racket. Traditionally set off to scare away evil spirits, many people would set them off when opening the front door before they went out. We somehow doubt these will scare off a dedicated door camper but you can try!

New Year Gong
A very large, very loud gong. You can hit it or shoot it and even play music on it as the note changes based on where it is struck.

Rat Mask
To celebrate year of the rat we have created a beautiful bronze and gold Rat Mask. Similar to last years Dragon Mask, it...

The most wonderful time of the year!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone! The Christmas Event is once again live! If you haven't been around for this before, here's what you can expect:

Every once in a while you will hear the sound of jingle bells. Run outside and look for a gift! Two gifts are spawned per player, in a radius of about 40m from where you are standing. Run up and bash it open to receive your Christmas presents. They come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. If you have enough small presents stashed, you can "trade up" to a medium or large. The contents of each present varies, but you'll find a mix of resources, weapons, and candy. We've also added wrapping paper allowing you to wrap up items as gifts to other players, perhaps sold in your vending machine...

Once again, you will be able to find Santa...
